Exercise Program

The B4 Exercise Program
This comprehensive program consists of a series of over 70 stretching, mobilising and strengthening exercises and movements which address the function of the whole body. The exercises are grouped into routines according to the area of the body at which they are targeted. The exercises combine to work on your core stability, general joint mobility, relaxation and strength. The overall effect is to enable you to get your body working and functioning at its optimum level. In addition, each exercise is precisely described and illustrated within the B4 manual to enable you to practice daily.

The rationale behind the B4 Exercise program
B4 treats the body as a whole. When there is pain in one area inevitably there will be problems or imbalances in another area. By taking care of the entire body you are giving yourself the best possible chance to take control of all pain. The exercises teach you to assess the functionality of your body. You will learn how to align one side of the body with the other so all your joints and muscles are balanced and your body works as best it can.

Your comfort and pain levels will be considered and monitored throughout the programme, so you can work within your own capabilities with exercises targeted to your individual needs.

B4 EXERCISE PRINCIPLES
1. Mobilising: The mobility and flexibility of all the joints of the body is improved by means of repetitive movements

2. Stretching: The muscles are used to their fullest capacity, gradually stretching to relieve tension in tight muscles, thereby avoiding the risk of injury

3. Strengthening: Specific muscle groups are worked to improve overall posture, strengthen the entire body and stabilize the back and neck.

4. Relaxing: The body is allowed to relax in a position which specifically addresses the muscles supporting the spine, pain relief is achieved and prevention of further injury is facilitated
